Remtec Engine Warranty:

All engines are guaranteed against faulty workmanship and defective materials for a period of 2 years from date of purchase (first year parts and labour, second year parts), unlimited mileage. Full details of the warranty are supplied with the engine, and are available at any time on request. The following summarizes the warranty conditions:

  1. Damage occurring as a result of a failure of any ancillary parts (e.g. cooling, fuel, turbo charger/exhaust and ignition system components) is not covered by this guarantee, nor are the ancillary parts themselves.
  2. Servicing must be carried out according to the intervals specified in the information provided with your engine. Only use the type and grade of oil recommended by the original manufacturer or ourselves.
  3. Tappets should be checked and reset as necessary. Where applicable check cooling, fuel and ignition system as well as auxiliary drive belts. Ensure there are no oil, water or fuel leaks. You must keep a record of the service work undertaken.
  4. Any necessary repairs or maintenance (whether covered by this Warranty or not) should be carried out as soon as is practicable and without further detriment to the condition of the engine. Failure to act promptly may invalidate your warranty. All ancillary parts should always be maintained in good order.
  5. Any modifications or unauthorised work done to the engine without the consent of Remtec will invalidate this Warranty.
  6. This Warranty covers the vehicle only for use on public roads and does not apply off road or in competition, race or speed trials. If the vehicle is to be used for towing, then this must only be done within the original manufacturer's recommendations.
  7. This Warranty will not cover any defect, damage or breakdown resulting from misuse, negligence or collision.
  8. This Warranty will not apply if the repair is required simply as a result of fair wear and tear.
  9. This Warranty is transferable provided Remtec are notified of change of ownership when this occurs, and all terms and conditions stated are adhered to.
  10. This Warranty does not cover towing, vehicle recovery, or any consequential costs incurred (e.g. replacement/short term hire vehicle, overnight accommodation etc).
  11. The vehicle owner is responsible for the costs of maintenance items replaced during Warranty repairs
  12. If any material facts are withheld, false or fraudulent reports and/or claims are made, then this Warranty shall become void. In this event, any payments that have been made by Remtec will be repayable immediately.
  13. If an engine is replaced under the terms of this Warranty, the replacement engine will be covered for the balance of the original guarantee.
  14. This Warranty is valid and effective only if all terms and conditions (including the Repairs Procedure) are fully complied with.
  15. Agents, distributors or other suppliers trading in or selling Remtec engines have no right or authority to bind in any way nor to assume any obligations on Remtec Behalf..
  16. No variation or modification to the terms of this Warranty shall be valid or binding unless it is in writing and signed by an authorised employee Remtec
  17. Remtec reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of this Warranty from time to time without prior notification
  18. Nothing in the Warranty affects the customer's statutory rights
Warranty Claim Procedure:

In the event of a possible Warranty claim, the following procedure applies:

  1. The end-user must contact the agent who supplied the engine and give the following information:
    • The engine Serial number
    • The vehicle details, and any non-standard specifications
    • The date the engine was purchased
    • The mileage of the vehicle at the time the engine was fitted
    • The current mileage of the vehicle
    • Details of the problem
  2. If the end-user is unable to contact the agent who supplied the unit, he/she may contact Remtec directly, detailing the information required above.
  3. The vehicle must be delivered, at the owner's expense, to a mutually agreed repairer. No repairs may be undertaken until the costs and the method of repair have been agreed with Remtec. Remtec will not cover diagnostic costs
  4. Remtec will then authorise any necessary repairs, or replacement, at the agreed cost. No invoices will be accepted for payment beyond this costs agreed.
  5. Remtec will not be liable for costs incurred through incorrect diagnosis. If, after Remtec have paid any invoice, it is found that the fault has been misdiagnosed then these payments will be re-payable immediately
  6. Remtec will provide any necessary repair parts. All faulty or damaged parts removed under the terms of this Warranty shall become the property of Remtec and must be returned.
  7. Failure to comply with any of the above may invalidate the warranty.
